Elements and Performance Criteria
- Plan and prepare to recover underground equipment
- Access, interpret and apply underground equipment recovery documentation and ensure the work activity is compliant
- Obtain, interpret, clarify and confirm details of the recovery requirements
- Access, interpret and apply environmental, geological and survey data
- Assist in the preparation of a recovery plan
- Estimate, obtain, transport and prepare materials and resources
- Prepare worksite to ensure a safe work environment
- Select and wear personal protective equipment appropriate for work activities
- Inspect and assess site conditions to determine if scaling is required and take action
- Arrange communications with other relevant site personnel
- Obtain and interpret emergency procedures and be prepared for fire/accident/emergency
- Recover equipment
- Coordinate with others at the site prior to commencement of, and during, the work activity
- Carry out pre-start, start-up, park-up and shutdown procedures
- Install recovery equipment/plant and special services
- Communicate with other equipment operators and personnel using approved communication methods
- Access and apply safety information and procedures throughout the work
- Recover equipment systematically, using approved methods and equipment, with minimal loss and damage to equipment
- Identify and address hazardous and emergency situations
- Place recovered equipment into the designated holding area
- Carry out operator maintenance on recovery equipment/plant
