Performance Evidence

Evidence is required to be collected that demonstrates a candidate’s competency in this unit. Evidence must be relevant to the roles within this sector’s work operations and satisfy all of the requirements of the performance criteria of this unit and include evidence that the candidate:

locates and applies relevant documentation, policies and procedures

demonstrates completion of conducting line of site remote operations that safely, effectively and efficiently meets all of the required outcomes on more than one (1) occasion including:

completing pre-start, start-up, park-up and shutdown activities

installing recovery equipment, plant and special services

recovering equipment

completing equipment inspections and fault finding

completing operational servicing, lubricating and housekeeping


Knowledge Evidence

The candidate must demonstrate knowledge in recovering underground equipment through:

accessing, interpreting and applying legislative, organisation and site requirements and procedures for:

operational safety

mine operations

recovery site control

operational signalling

mine communication systems

identifying geological and environmental conditions in the recovery area

identifying potential hazards and taking remedial or response actions

identifying and applying a range of recovery methods

applying loss and damage causes and control techniques
